Accessibility
Accessibility in the context of a website or app means that it can be used by all people - regardless of whether the users live with an impairment or not. Impairments can be both permanent characteristics (e.g. blindness) and situational circumstances (e.g. children's screams). Accessible design therefore takes into account contrasts, alternative texts for illustrations, subtitles for videos, etc.
Guidelines for accessibility are the German Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0) on a national level, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) internationally.
