Services/ Focus Group


A focus group is a moderated discussion with about 6-10 members of the target group. Its goal is to collect as many usability findings as possible at an early stage in the development process.

Due to the discussion character and group dynamics, it is possible to identify other problems than during individual interviews or usability testings. An experienced moderator guarantees a constructive and result-oriented procedure and prevents individual participants from dominating the discussion.



Advantages of a focus group


Little effort: A focus group is a great possibility to quickly find out expectations, wishes and opinions of several members of the target group.

Early stage: Even an unfinished "product", an early prototype or storyboard can be discussed and tested.

New ideas: The moderator uses specific techniques for motivating the participants to develop new ideas independent from what is technically feasible.

Assessment of ideas: Concepts and ideas are presented with detailed use cases. The participants are asked to complete sentences, like in e.g.:


 
  • "Such a solution is..."
  • "I like the way the product is..."
  • "I don't like..."

Results


You will receive a detailed report including the complete protocol of the focus group. The report will also contain the key findings along with the conclusions and interpretations illustrated with quotations of the discussion, where appropriate.
